Flavor-A-Bowl Replaces SESAME Chinese Kitchen in Farmingdale

Flavor-A-Bowl, the build-you-own-bowl restaurant has hit Farmingdale replacing SESAME Chinese Kitchen at 503 Conklin Street. Patrons start with a base of rice, stir fry or soup noodles, then add protein, essential toppings and a broth or sauce for rice bowls.

Appetizers feature fried gyoza (pan-fried dumplings), popcorn chicken, and shumai. The homemade steamed pork buns are a fan favorite with many reviewers highlighting them in their posts.

The restaurant says it focuses on quality sourced fresh ingredients, nutrient dense and hefty bowls and lovingly crafted and aesthetic designs.

On Yelp, Chun L, came out from the city and happened upon Flavor-A-Bowl.

“I was in the neighborhood visiting my college friends and was starving for Asian food,” he wrote. “Found this little gem that offered takeout and dine-in and figured, why not let’s try it out. I had the crispy tofu and chicken teriyaki and was quite amazed at how authentic and delicious the meal was.”

Vicky P, from Flushing,  agreed.

“I love how they have set food items but also able to build your own rice and noodles,” she said. “I got the stir fried build your own bowl with shrimp and slow roasted beef tendon and IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!”

She loved the atmosphere, the staff and the food.

“I’ll definitely be back and I highly recommend you all to visit as well,” Vicky wrote. “Great place!”
