PDQ Opens 2nd Location in Westbury

PDQ is the fresh chicken joint with dozens of locations up and down the East Coast from Florida, where it first launched in Tampa, to New York, where its first location in the state opened in Farmingdale two years ago. Now, PDQ has opened a second location on Long Island in Westbury.

According to a story in GreaterLongIsland.com, the location is on a pad site in Westbury Plaza at 1236 Old Country Road and opened in mid May.

The Long Island PDQ is operated by Ryan Basham, the son of the chain restaurant’s co-founder Bob Basham. Basham, according to a press release, helped launch the Outback brand of restaurants in 1988, which currently has more than 1,500 restaurants that have opened under the brand, including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s, Roy’s, Cheeseburger in Paradise and Outback International.

PDQ promises that its chicken is “fresh, never frozen” and served up with a signature mix of homemade sauces and dressings. The menu includes bowls, seasonal premium sandwiches and sides, in addition to classics like the restaurant’s hand-breaded chicken tenders, made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and hand-spun milkshakes.

In case you were wondering, PDQ stands for People Dedicated to Quality.

PDQ placed third in the Best Regional Fast Food category for USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards this year.

On Yelp, Crystal P, from Mineola, gave it a good review.

“I’ve heard so much about this place when it was just in Farmingdale so I was excited to finally try it over here,” he wrote. “It was amazing.”

Location: 1236 Old Country Road, Westbury, (516) 430-3990.
