Resy Co-founder is Investor in Astro’s Pizza in Amagansett

Astro’s Pizza is under new ownership. The 51-year-old Amagansett favorite came under new management at the beginning of this season, announcing their plans on LongIsland.com’s events page.

The restaurant is now operated by PJ Calapa, who owns Scampi and The Spinard both located in New York City, alongside investor Ben Leventhal, who is one of the founders of Resy. Resy is the online restaurant-reservation service company founded in 2014 by Leventhal along with marketing guru Gary Vaynerchuk and Michael Montero.

Menu items include starters like their PJ’s Caesar, little gem lettuce, anchovy vinaigrette, breadcrumbs, and parmesan ($17), Sicilian Sashimi, local catch, capers, shallots, lemon, olive oil, and parsley ($24), and Meatballs, pork, beef, pecorino, parsley, roasted garlic, and tomato sauce ($20). Pizza is available by the slice or pie. The Classico has mozzarella and tomato sauce ($4/$25), Clam with local clams, roasted garlic, parsley, lemon, and mozzarella ($7/$34), and Spicy Honey Pepperoni pepperoni, tomato sauce, and hot honey ($7/$28).
