The Villager Pub Opens in Farmingdale

The Lily Flanagan’s Restaurant Group is serving up beer and grub in a new spot, bringing their locally famous pub style to Farmingdale with The Villager. The new Farmingdale pub joins sister restaurants Lilys, The Villager, and The Local all in Babylon, and Oakdale Brew House and the Wharf in Oakdale.

On the menu are shareable plates like their charcuterie board with burrata, prairie cheddar, assorted Italian cured salami, prosciutto wrapped asparagus accompanied by honeycomb, mango jam, and grain mustard ($28), the Firehouse Sliders with blackened slider patty’s, pepper jack, chipotle aioli, cherry peppers, and guacamole ($15), and the Mediterranean Platter with roasted garlic hummus, pita, mixed olives, crudité, feta, tzatziki, marinated artichokes ($16).

The Villager also is serving up tacos. Try the Green Dragon, made up of tempura shrimp, cucumbers, avocado, sticky mango sauce, tobiko, and corn tortillas ($17). Of course, no pub would be complete without handhelds. Burgers are made with their signature angus blend. The Classic is topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles ($15) or try out the Mushroom Swiss Burger, with sautéed wild mushrooms, truffle arugula salad, swiss, and rosemary aioli ($18). The also have a delicious-sounding Lobster Roll with claw and knuckle lobster, choice of classic New England style or Connecticut style, and served on butter brioche roll ($32).

Their taps pour a litany of standard and craft beers. If craft cocktails are your thing don’t fret. They have plenty. The Good Vibes Only, made from citrus vodka, watermelon puree, lemon and club ($12) is a refreshing summer drink that pops off the menu. Or try out the Kentucky King with bourbon blackberry honey, lemon and mint ($12).

On Yelp, Nick F, from Massapequa,  gave The Villager five stars.

“Our visit to The Villager this early evening exceeded every expectation for a casual local dinner,” he said. “It’s great to have a new casual favorite in Farmingdale!!”
