Baked with Grace Opens at Cloud Nine Ice Cream in Patchogue

A side gig simply to pass the time during the pandemic quarantine has become a fully baked business.

Grace Reilly began baking cookie pies as a 20-year-old college student in 2020 when she lost her job babysitting after the Cornonvirus caused a global shutdown. Reilly decided to experiment selling her cookie pie creations for extra dough. Her cookie pies became a hot ticket item eventually leading to a small bake shop in Babylon called Baked with Grace.

According to an article on GreaterLongIsland.com, Reilly was approached by the owner of Cloud Nine Ice Cream to start selling her pies at the Patchogue shop.

Cloud Nine Ice Cream sells cereal-infused ice cream. Patrons get to pick their own flavors by combining any cereal they want with soft serve vanilla ice cream. Then they choose from a variety of toppings.

Reilly told GreaterLongIsland that the owner of Cloud Nine Ice Cream came into the Babylon store and was surprised how small her shop was being that she baked all the pies off premises.

“He was like, ‘Oh my god, this would be perfect if she wanted a space in my shop,’” she is quoted as saying.

Baked with Grace in Patchogue is open Wednesday to Friday, 5-10 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, noon-10 p.m.
