Celebrate National Burger Day with a Taste of History at Mirabelle Tavern
On National Burger Day, May 28th, Mirabelle Tavern invites burger lovers to sink their teeth into something extraordinary: the NEW 1890 Burger, a culinary tribute to timeless American flavors with a refined, modern twist.
Crafted with heritage and heart, the 1890 Burger pays homage to the legacy of Lessing’s Hospitality Group who has been at the helm of Mirabelle Tavern for nearly two decades, bringing its 135 years of hospitality expertise to this beloved dining destination. The unveiling of the 1890 Burger—a nod to the year Lessing’s was founded and its longstanding commitment to culinary excellence—was just a few weeks ago among a delicious new menu featuring a mix of longtime Mirabelle favorites and innovative French and American dishes.
The culinary team spent months perfecting the burger— sampling meat blends, refining toppings, and dialing in cooking techniques. The 45-day custom dry aged beef patty from Pat LaFrieda is meticulously crafted from a blend of the most flavorful cuts and ensures the ultimate flavor and tenderness that every burger aficionado is seeking. It gets better from there: the 1890 Burger comes topped with Tillamook smoked cheddar, white onion and a special sauce, all stacked on a freshly baked sesame seed bun.
“Our team has spent months perfecting the 1890 Burger, drawing inspiration from some of New York City’s iconic burger spots. After countless adjustments to the blend, we decided to embrace simplicity, letting the burger shine on its own. We’re confident it stands up with the finest burgers you’ll ever taste,” shares Michael Lessing Jr., Director of Restaurant Operations for Lessing’s Hospitality.
In a few short weeks, the 1890 Burger has become one of the top ordered items on the new menu. The feedback has been glowing:
Melissa Policaro, Content Creator, @Wanderlissa – The perfect burger! The Three Village Inn ‘1890 Burger’ has simple, but high-quality ingredients that work so well together. Their house-made bun, thoughtfully paired toppings, and perfectly aged meat proves that a great burger doesn’t need to be overloaded. Definitely my kind of burger!
Abigail Fridman, Content Creator, @abbyfridman – This is hands down the juiciest, most flavorful burger I’ve ever had on Long Island. Cooked with a culmination of uniquely crafted flavors placed between two buns, I could eat it over and over again. The meat just melts in your mouth and satisfies all your cravings. I will definitely be back to have it again!
