Doughnut enthusiasts, rejoice! National Donut Day is here again, marking a sweet celebration on the first Friday of June.

This delicious day traces its origins back to 1938 when the Salvation Army introduced it to honor their “Donut Lassies”—volunteers who served doughnuts to soldiers in France during World War I to lift their spirits.

Today, doughnut shops across the area are embracing the tradition with special deals and freebies to celebrate the occasion.

Dunkin’: Dunkin’ is offering a free classic doughnut with the purchase of any drink at all locations, while supplies last.
Krispy Kreme: Krispy Kreme is giving away one free doughnut per customer at participating U.S. locations, no purchase necessary. This offer is valid in-store only and excludes specialty and limited-time doughnuts.
