Chipotle Mexican Grill to Debut “Happier Hour” Discount Meals Amid Slowing Sales
Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to debut a new “Happier Hour” where the restaurant chain will offer discounted meals in order to drum up sales following a recent slump.
CEO Scott Boatwright said in an interview that the promotion will offer cheaper food and drink deals during off-peak times; this follows recent news that Chipotle’s sales decreased 2.5 percent during the fourth quarter of 2025.
“We’re going to give it a shot and see what it looks like for us. We’re calling it Happier Hour, so think maybe a couple of tacos and a beverage sometime during the middle daypart. And we feel like it’s a compelling offer, and it creates value for our consumer,” Boatwright said. “So we have more work to do on exactly what we’ll launch in the test, but we’re thinking something probably lower than 10 bucks. I think it’s our way into really giving back to the community in a meaningful way and really expanding that daypart to bring more customers in the restaurants.”
Currently, the exact details of “Happier Hour,” including prices, included menu items, and start date are still in the process of being finalized.
