Chopt Creative Salad Opening in Stony Brook
By Kristina Garcia
Chopt Creative Salad Co. is set to introduce its first healthy fast-casual dining experience to Suffolk County, to be located at 205 Hallock Road in Stony Brook. No opening date has been set.
The popular chain provides a variety of options including signature salads, warm bowls, wraps, and soups. Their “Craft Your Own” option, a customer favorite, allows diners to create custom meals with local greens, artisan flavors and various dressings as detailed on the Chopt website. Chopt already has locations throughout Nassau County in New Hyde Park, Roslyn Heights, Garden City, and Woodbury.
Chopt Salad features plenty of healthy, protein packed options. Must-try selections include the Kale Caesar Salad, Mexican Caesar Salad, and The Chopt Greek Salad – all popular as a wrap as well. The new Santa Fe Steakhouse Salad, and the Spicy Sonoma Caesar Salad have become a menu favorite amongst customers quickly. In the mood for a warm bowl? The Chicken Tinga Bowl, and the new Lemon Crush Bowl (available with your choice of protein) are warm bowl hits.
Chopt says it works with farms and farmers to create a menu free of artificial preservatives. “With every new restaurant opening, we work with local organizations that share our goal of building a better future. Over the years we have donated 100% of opening day sales – over $175,000 – to organizations including but not limited to: Jones Valley Teaching Farm, Real Food for Kids, Wellness in the Schools, City Harvest, Giving Kitchen …” according to the Chopt website.
Kerry Pearson, a 23-year-old Merrick resident who lives in East Setauket during the academic year, says, “I love Chopt! It’s such an easy and convenient way to eat healthy. My experiences at the Garden City location are always great and I am looking forward to that same experience at this new location.”
New to the Chopt chain, Reilly Rich, 22, from Ilion, N.Y., expressed her excitement about the opening: “I’m really looking forward to the opening of Chopt! I am always looking for a good salad bowl and this will be a healthy choice for the area. We really don’t have a lot of options like that in Suffolk.”
Menu prices range from $9.99-$17.49, depending on choice of protein and added ingredients for salads, warm bowls, or wraps. Currently, Chopt Creative Salad Co. is looking for another restaurant to share the 10,500-square-foot availability space with them.
