Dunkin’ Restaurant In Lawrence Commemorates Grand Reopening With Donation To Smiles Through Cars
Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 299 Burnside Ave. in the village of Lawrence on Tuesday, May 27 as part of its grand reopening.
Dunkin’ franchisee Burnside Avenue Donuts commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to the Smiles Through Cars, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Since its founding in 2008, Smiles Through Cars has been dedicated to bringing joy and unforgettable experiences to children facing difficult circumstances. The organization has proudly visited hospitals and communities across the country.
“We are extremely appreciative of this generous donation from Burnside Avenue Donuts and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation,” said Smiles Through Cars Founder Josh Aryeh. “These funds will be used to help local children and families during times of despair. Dunkin’ is all about spreading joy, and that is absolutely what we intend to do with these funds.”
Firefighters from the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department; Officers from the Nassau County Police Department’s 4th Precinct; Representatives from the office of New York State Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick; and representatives from the office of New York State Representative Ari Brown joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The 1,200-square foot, newly remodeled Lawrence Dunkin’ is open 24 hours per-day and employs 20 crew members.
