Floral Park’s Uptown Taco Restaurant Permanently Shuts Doors for Business Out of the Blue
After six years in business, Floral Park’s popular Uptown Taco – which managed to make it through the trials and tribulations of the COVID-19 pandemic – has permanently closed its doors for business with just one day’s notice, leaving fans of the popular restaurant upset and disappointed.
Uptown Taco closed for good on Sunday, May 10, after owners Bill Barry and Lou Ventura announced the end on the eatery on their Facebook page just one day prior.
“Uptown Taco was more than a business — it was a dream we got to live because of you,” they eatery’s owner posted. “With heavy hearts, we are announcing that we are in the process of selling the business and will be closing permanently on Sunday, May 10.”
Customers expressed their dismay at the news.
“This makes me so sad. It was a wonderful establishment with great people and delicious food. It will truly be missed,” one posted.
“So sad. I was just there Wednesday and did not know, it was a nice spot to sit, chat and enjoy good food,” another exclaimed.
No reason was given for the abrupt closure.
