Hooters’ Farmingdale Location Permanently Closes Doors for Business
Representing the last location on Long Island, the Hooters restaurant in Farmingdale has permanently closed its doors for business, according to a post the company made on social media.
On Monday, February 16, the 25 Smith Street location announced on its Facebook page that the unfortunate decision had been made to shutter the eatery, which is currently listed as being “permanently closed” on Google.
“After much deliberation, we’ve made the difficult decision to close this location, the post read. “We are incredibly grateful for the many years of great times, cold beer, hot wings, and unforgettable memories shared here. Thank you to our guests, team members, and community for the support over the years.”
For those still looking for a Hooters fix, the closest location is now in Fresh Meadows, Queens.
Founded in 1983, Hooters – whose name is an obvious double entendre – gained infamy for their female waiting staff dressed in revealing outfits. The menu includes hamburgers and other sandwiches, steaks, seafood entrees, appetizers, and the restaurant’s specialty, chicken wings.
Hooters of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025 and are currently in the process of restructuring and transitioning to a franchise-only model.
