Long Island Pizza Strong Unites Pizzerias for Fundraiser to Support West Babylon Car Crash Victims
Long Island pizzerias are coming together once again to support local families in the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy thanks to Long Island Pizza Strong. On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, pizzerias across the island will participate in a fundraiser for the families affected by the devastating car crash in West Babylon that happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 21st.
As part of the fundraiser, $5 from every pizza pie sold at participating locations will be donated and all proceeds from the event will be split between the families of the teens impacted by the crash. With over 100 pizzerias already signed up, the community is coming together in a powerful show of support. The first round of participating pizzerias will be announced on Friday, October 4th, and more pizzerias are expected to join the cause.
Long Island Pizza Strong has a history of making a big difference in local communities. In October 2023, the organization raised $102,200 for the families of the Farmingdale bus crash victims. Earlier this year, $181,500 was raised for the family of Officer Jonathan Diller and other local causes.

Long Island Pizza Strong is organized by Anthony Laurino, owner of Phil’s Pizzeria in Syosset, Jim Serpico from Side Hustle Bread, and Alyssa Guidice, founder of the popular Dine-LI foodie Facebook group.
“LI Pizza Strong comes together in times of tragedy, and as much as it pains us to have to do another one we look forward to bringing together the community once again to help these families,” said the organizers in a statement. “We can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through.”
