Secrets Out: Artemis Speakeasy to Shake Up Station Yards in Ronkonkoma This April

Cocktail enthusiasts and lovers of nostalgic charm, mark your calendars: Artemis Speakeasy is officially opening its doors this April at the bustling Station Yards development in Ronkonkoma. Led by seasoned Long Island entrepreneurs Ed Fabian (Billie’s 1890 Saloon) and Brendan Mooney (Fire Island Ferries), this intimate spot promises an elegant throwback to the heyday of Prohibition-era nightlife.

Fabian teamed up with Mooney to craft a unique experience that blends historic intrigue with contemporary flair. Fabian says guests can look forward to expertly crafted cocktails, delicious small plates, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere perfect for romantic evenings or casual gatherings with friends and coworkers, adding that they are aiming for a mid-April opening.

The speakeasy’s name pays tribute to a storied chapter in Long Island’s past—the infamous rumrunner vessel, Artemis, renowned for smuggling premium spirits into Port Jefferson during Prohibition. Originally a luxury yacht, the Artemis became legendary in local lore for evading authorities and successfully transporting top-shelf liquor to thirsty patrons throughout the island. Eventually, the Artemis met a dramatic end when it was intercepted and sunk by a Coast Guard cutter near Orient Point, further cementing its intriguing legacy. This nod to local history adds an extra layer of mystique and intrigue, perfect for patrons looking for more than just a drink.

Guests can expect a carefully curated menu of craft cocktails, both alcoholic and alcohol-free, paired thoughtfully with gourmet small plates. Adding to its exclusivity, Artemis will offer private memberships, promising regular patrons unique perks and a more intimate atmosphere.

“We’re excited to offer something truly special with our memberships, but Artemis is absolutely open to everyone,” Fabian explained. “We want the community to know that while there are exclusive perks for members, anyone can stop by and enjoy what we’ve created.”

Artemis joins an eclectic lineup of restaurants and retail shops in the rapidly growing Station Yards community, which will also boast residential apartments, office spaces, and a public plaza.

Stay tuned—Long Island’s newest hotspot promises to be worth the wait.
