Starbucks Continues To Go All In On Protein With New Bottled Coffee & Protein Beverages

Starbucks is bringing protein to the grocery aisle with a new line-up of ready-to-drink (RTD) Starbucks Coffee & Protein beverages that blend premium Starbucks® coffee with 22 grams of complete protein, 5 grams of prebiotic fiber, five vitamins and minerals and just 2 grams of sugar. Launching March 23, these delicious beverages tap into the growing consumer demand for protein and “levels up” the morning coffee routine with purposeful ingredients – in a way that only Starbucks can.

Available in two delicious flavors, Classic Caffè and Caffè Mocha, Starbucks® Coffee & Protein is rolling out in grocery and convenience stores and online nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per 12 fl. oz. bottle.

  • Starbucks® Coffee & Protein Classic Caffè: Bold coffee flavor layered with protein for balanced richness and a satisfying boost.
  • Starbucks® Coffee & Protein Caffè Mocha: Rich cocoa combined with Starbucks coffee and protein for a smooth, delicious sipping experience.

“Consumers are looking for wellness solutions that fit seamlessly into their morning routines,” said Brian Smith, senior director, Brand Marketing, North American Coffee Partnership. “Starbucks Coffee & Protein delivers both great taste and nutrients, offering 22 grams of complete protein and 5 grams of prebiotic fiber in a convenient, ready-to-drink bottle that supports busy lifestyles.”

Developed through the North American Coffee Partnership (NACP), the longstanding joint venture between Starbucks and PepsiCo, the new RTD Starbucks Coffee & Protein combines the quality Starbucks coffee customers know and love with the protein they want and added nutrition they’re seeking, making it easy to level up their morning routine.

Leveling Up the Morning Routine

There is a growing demand for drinks that do more, and protein is a top dietary priority for American consumers, with 80% of Americans prioritizing the nutrient in their diet daily.* However, with 54% of consumers overall also seeking foods and beverages high in fiber,** many are looking beyond a single nutrient and taking a more holistic approach to digestive wellness. Starbucks is elevating the traditional morning coffee routine with RTD Starbucks Coffee & Protein.

Last fall, Starbucks coffeehouses introduced Protein Lattes and Protein Cold Foams to the permanent menu across the U.S. and Canada. RTD Starbucks Coffee & Protein expands the coffeehouse’s mission to innovate and deliver modernized beverage options for customers.

In addition to RTD Starbucks Coffee & Protein, Starbucks will be rolling out several new beverages designed to provide more options for those seeking lighter or reduced sugar beverages. These include:
