UFO “Crash Landing” Appears at Massapequa Carvel for Flying Saucer’s 75th Anniversary
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Carvel’s iconic Flying Saucer — and to help kick off spring and the start of ice cream season — the brand is staging a playful UFO-style “crash landing” on Thursday, March 19th outside the Massapequa Carvel shoppe at 998 Hicksville Road, featuring a giant Flying Saucer installation that appears to have crash-landed outside the store; creating a highly visual moment perfect for coverage.
A nod to Carvel’s Long Island roots, this local shoppe has been a community staple since 1954 and has been owned and operated by the Givargidze family since 1969.
The activation also kicks off a nationwide celebration that includes:
- Flying Saucers will be just 75¢ on March 20 at participating Carvel shoppes nationwide
- The first 50 guests at the crash site will receive commemorative Flying Saucer merchandise
