Anchor Down Seafood Bar & Grill in Merrick Closing, Owner Reopening With New Concept

The Anchor Down Seafood Bar & Grill at the Open Bay Marina in Merrick announced on social media that it will close for good as of October 29th and will reopen as a new concept soon.

The note on Facebook and Instagram thanked patrons for their support over the last nine years and the location would close as of October 29th.

“We will be reopening at a later date with a new concept that’ll suit our customers all year round,” the note read. “We will be reopening independently from Anchor Down Dockside.”

Sister restaurant to the Merrick location Anchor Down Dockside is in Seaford.

They called the closing temporary and said that Chef and Owner Stephen Rosenbluth will be reopening in the location at 1960 Bayberry Ave with his new restaurant.

In conversation on social media on its page, the restaurant said it will have a new name and there will be some cajun food served there.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
