Branzinos Bar & Restaurant Opening Second Location in Northport

Branzinos Bar & Restaurant, an Italian seafood restaurant, has leased a portion of the space in a vacant building at 240 Fort Salonga Road in Northport, according to a story in Long Island Business News.

The spot used to house Southdown Marketplace until it vacated a few years ago. The building – originally built about ten years go – was initially marketed as a full 7,974-square-foot retail space ideal for a grocery store until it was divided up. Branzinos Bar & Restaurant will occupy a 2,700-square-foot unit, while the other spaces have been split between two other retailers, a nail salon and a gym. The property is now fully leased.

Branzinos Bar & Restaurant opened up its first location in an intimate spot in a shopping center on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station in January 2020. Co-owner James Villani described the style of the restaurant as an Italian seafood chophouse at the time and as the name implies, the focus is on fish. (Branzino is a type of Mediterranean Bass.)

No opening date has been set yet. We will follow up on this story as more information becomes available.
