Ford’s Garage, Nostalgic Automotive Themed Restaurant, is Coming to Smith Haven Mall
An automotive themed restaurant chain called Ford’s Garage is coming to Long Island at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove. Decorated with Ford Motor Company-sanctioned branding and memorabilia, the eatery is built to resemble a 1920s service station complete with either a Model T or Model A car hung above the bar. The burger joint offers a selection of craft beers and comfort food for the casual diner.
Co-founded by Long Island native, Steve Israel (the real estate developer, not the ex-Congressman who now owns a bookstore in Oyster Bay), Ford’s Garage was launched in 2012.
The chain began franchising in 2015 with 22 locations now in Florida, Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. There are currently no locations in New York. Israel told Franchising.com that he and his partners expect to open up to five restaurants across Long Island over the next few years.
Ford’s Garage will be taking over the space that used to be Bobby’s Burger Palace, according to a story in Long Island Business News.
