Former Pentimento Restaurant Manager to Open Elaine’s Restaurant and Bar in East Setauket

The former manager at beloved Pentimento Restaurant is opening a new spot called Elaine’s in East Setauket.

Elaine Micali, who was manager at Pentimento Restaurant in Stony Brook before it shut down in 2021 to the chagrin of its multitude of fans who even staged rallies to save the eatery, is opening up a new spot called Elaine’s Restaurant and Bar in East Setauket.

The announcement was made via Instagram on Micali’s account but there already is a website, Facebook page and restaurant Instagram.

Micali’s post that appeared this morning read: C O M I N G S OON!#elaines-setauket #lieats #lifoodie #elainesrestaurant #foodislove❤️ #restaurantlife

The post came with a logo for the new restaurant.

The official website said the restaurant is expected to open some time in early 2024. There was also no hint at the type of food being offered at Elaine’s.

Elaine’s is also currently hiring for all positions. Click here to apply.

No location has been officially announced but two sites present themselves as likely choices.

Either the Tai Show North restaurant building at 316 Main Street, which is currently listed as for sale on commercial real estate listing website, or the old Old Field barbecue spot at 130 Old Town Road, which closed down last year and is advertised as available.

A listing on the ReMax website for the Tai Show North location says that the 3,700-square-foot restaurant space and business is listed for $1.8 million. A sign at 130 Old Town Road, the former Old Field barbecue, which before that was Raga Indian Restaurant, advertises the space is available from Atlantic Property Services.

Calls to the numbers listed for both sites went unanswered.

This is a breaking news story and we will follow up with more details as they become available.
