HEINZ Unveiling Pickle Ketchup in 2024

In our food travels we come across some pretty wild stuff. Some of it we believe, some of it we don’t, and some of it we really want to be true so badly we can taste it. This is one bit of news we are glad is confirmed and true.

People love pickles. We once put up an IG Reel about a pickle sammie from Yaphank Deli that got 5.6 million views. More than 70% of Americans report that they enjoy the taste of pickles. The world’s irrational love for pickles and ketchup is set to create a new cult condiment favorite, according to HEINZ, which announced the launch of its Pickle Ketchup, combining the tangy and savory flavor of pickles with the unmistakable taste of its ketchup.

Over the last decade, HEINZ says it has been doubling down on more nuanced flavor profiles and elevated dipping experiences, pursuing quirky consumer tastes.

“Increased desire for tasty, yet unexpected condiments has served as our innovation north star for the last several years,” says Katie Peterson, Director of HEINZ Innovation at The Kraft Heinz Company. “The current pickle craze in America mirrors the irrational love HEINZ fans have for the brand, so it only made sense for our newest ketchup to blend these two beloved tastes together.”

Pickle Ketchup will begin rolling out on shelves in the U.S. in early 2024. It is currently rolling out in select retailers in the United Kingdom (those lucky Brits!)

We will let you know when we spy the first bottle of pickle flavored ketchup on store shelves locally.
