Owners Dish on New Press 195 Restaurant Opening in Plainview at Former Prime Burger Bar Spot
The owners of Press 195 gave LongIslandRestaurants.com a little more info on the opening of their new spot in Plainview at the old Prime Burger Bar at 1048 Old Country Road in Morton Village Plaza. Prime Burger Bar opened in 2022 but did not make it in the space for long, closing earlier this year.
Co-owner Brian Karp said they were looking to expand Press 195 into new locations for a few years.
“But due to Covid our plans were pushed back,” Karp said in an email interview. “We were seeking to expand as we continue to find our customer reach constantly growing.”
The location will feature a bar, dining room and rear party space with a seating mix for 74 people. Karp said that along with his other co-owners Chris Evans, John Annechino and John Stasinopolous, he found that Plainview was the perfect town for their first expansion in years.
“We are a neighborhood restaurant and we sought a community that would welcome us,” he said.
The decision is already the right one from the response they have been getting.
“We are already feeling the love!” he said.
Plainview will replicate the other locations of Press 195 in Rockville Centre and Bayside, Queens.
“With 20 years plus of business we know what works for us and want to bring our passion to a new community,” said Karp.
The menu at Press 195 includes a number of handhelds including burgers with beef, black bean, chicken or beyond burger and their famous hot pressed sandwiches. Press 195 also has an extensive knish section on the menu with a number of options pressed between two knishes. A New York Times article touted Press 195 for their knish presses.
They also offer a late night menu from 10pm-midnight from Thursday to Saturday. Press 195 has a catering service as well.
Karp said that they have not committed to an opening date yet.
