Pelicana Chicken to Open in Former La Piazzetta Cafe Location in Plainview

Pelicana Chicken, a Korean fried chicken restaurant, is opening up in Plainview next week. The chain restaurant already has multiple locations in New York City but this will be their first foray on Long Island. The owner of the restaurant says that they will be open on Tuesday, November 28th.

The 1,350-square-foot restaurant will open at 542 Woodbury Road, the former location of La Piazzetta Cafe pizzeria. It will have seating for 20 and offer takeaway service as well. According to reports, the owner of the new restaurant is Brian Kim, a former regional manager for the company.

Pelicana Chicken was founded 1982 in Daejeon, South Korea and has since expanded to over 3,000 stores globally. The menu features fried chicken in Korean-style sauces like sweet and spicy, spicy barbecue and honey garlic. They also feature fried donut cheese balls and twisted donuts. The restaurant frequently makes the list of top chicken spots in New York City.

The restaurant plans to expand to other Long Island locations if Plainview proves successful.
