Photos: A Look At The New Sweetgreen at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington

Sweetgreen is planning the grand opening of their first store in Suffolk County at Walt Whitman Shops (formerly known as Walt Whitman Mall) in Huntington on Tuesday August 15th. The 2,807 sq ft location will accommodate 27 diners inside with banquette and bar counter seating and 14 diners outside on the restaurant’s expansive patio.  Store hours are 10:30am to 9pm daily.

We got a peek at the new store. See the pics below:

For every meal sold on opening day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to Island Harvest to nourish Long Island families experiencing food insecurity. Island Harvest has been leading hunger relief on Long Island since 1992, distributing fresh produce and assisting thousands of Long Islanders daily through innovative programs and community partners.

To celebrate opening day, the first 100 customers will be receiving Hu Chocolate as a gift with purchase.

There will also be a bouquet bar by Hometown Flower Co., as well as seasonal cupcakes inspired by Sweetgreen’s menu from Shae La Vie Bakery,  which is owned by local high-school student Shae Curtin, both of which are while supplies last.

Sweetgreen has also commissioned New York based artist Nate Harris for a woodcut print on Okawara Japanese paper, allowing layers of color and texture to be revealed once you get a closer look.
