Plans to Relocate Tullulah’s in Bay Shore to Main Street Move Forward

Earlier this year, Tullulah’s announced plans to move from its location on 4th Avenue in Bay Shore to a more prominent spot on West Main Street.

The space at 56A West Main Street that the restaurant owners want to occupy had been renovated back in 2019 and has been vacant, previously serving as a beauty school and a doctor’s office. According to a representative of the restaurant at a recent Islip Town Board planning meeting, who is the architect on the project, there are five residential apartments on the second floor of the building, which will remain.

Tullulah’s plans to occupy the spaces at both 56A and 60 West Main Street next door. At the November 8th planning board meeting, the restaurant’s representative said that there are designs to use the small one-story building at 60 West Main for additional seating. The plan is to renovate the facade, close up the doorway and put in a new window.

The new 5,100-square-foot restaurant space calls for 80 interior seats and an additional 20 seasonal outdoor seats at the rear of the building in the courtyard. A new patio will be installed.

The planning board closed the public hearing and unanimously granted the application to move forward.
