Pollo Campero Chicken Looks to Open at Vacant Checkers Location in Amityville on Route 110
A fast food chicken restaurant called Pollo Campero is looking to open in the old Checkers location on Route 110 in Amityville.
An application with the Town of Babylon shows that Pollo Campero of New York, LLC is applying to demolish an existing structure in order to construct a 2,598-square-foot 60-seat Pollo Campero restaurant with drive-thru.
According to their website, Pollo Campero started in 1971 in Guatemala. They describe their chicken as “marinated to the bone, slow-down-and-enjoy-every-bite” kind of food.
On Long Island, Pollo Campero already has locations in Bay SHore, Central Islip, Huntington Station and Hempstead.
The property is located on the southwest corner of Route 110 and Ritter Avenue. According to commercial real estate site Propery Shark, the building is valued at about $1.06 million.
