Redefine Meal Prep Opening New Store in Ronkonkoma at Five Corners Including Their First-Ever Dine-In Restaurant

Sachem High School graduates Matt Riss and Mark Ciaburri have bought the five corners building at 781 Hawkins Avenue to open a new location of their growing health food business, Redefine Meal Prep, with their first sit-down dining restaurant inside.

The building was once the Five Corners Deli. Then it became a coffee shop, a Subway and a bakery. Now, Redefine Meal Prep owners Matt Riss and Mark Ciaburri have bought the property at 781 Hawkins Avenue to turn it into the 13th location of their growing healthy meal-prep business. They purchased the property in July 2023.

Because they both graduated from Sachem High School, which is about a half mile down the block on Smith Street, it was a little like homecoming. Along with the Sachem nostalgia, the two men also opened their very first Redefine Meal Prep store nearby about three-and-half years ago. That location at 1015 Hawkins Avenue in Lake Grove is also about a half-mile away from the five corners property.

“We felt like we could bring a concept that would be an asset to the community,” said Riss in an interview with LongIslandRestaurants.com recently.

Redefine Meal Prep offers over 60 healthy, flavorful meal dishes for people to pick from and will bundle together from seven to 20 meals to either take home or be delivered to them.

The new Ronkonkoma store will expand on Redefine Meal Prep’s current offerings, which will include their very first sit-down dining restaurant with a kitchen able to serve a fast casual menu, brick oven pizza, and expanded prepared meals, according to Riss. All of their other locations are meal prep stores with only retail and no kitchen space. They also plan to launch catering options from this location as well once it’s open.

Redefine Meal Prep is quickly expanding across Long Island with a store opening in Islip on January 1st and plans to open in Station Yards in the new development under construction near Ronkonkoma Train Station.

The opening date in Ronkonkoma is still TBD but Riis said they are shooting for early Spring 2024.
