Revolving Sushi Restaurant With Robot Servers – Kura Sushi Opening in Smith Haven Mall Late Next Year
Kura Sushi, a Japan-based revolving sushi chain with more than 600 restaurants worldwide, is planning to open a new spot in Lake Grove at the Smith Haven Mall in 2024.
The sushi spot uses conveyor belts and robots to deliver sushi to guests, a modern approach to the age-old Japanese cuisine. The restaurant first opened in Carle Place this year.
“When laying out the market plan for Long Island, Carle Place became an obvious choice for market entry,” said Chief Development Officer, Robert Kluger. “Eateries of all varieties, including Asian cuisines, are very busy in this market…”
Kluger said they wanted to bring a new, exciting and different dining experience to the area.
With the success of Carle Place the company is looking eastward for their next endeavor, according to a company spokesperson.
Although the timing is subject to change, the representative confirmed that they plan to bring the Kura Sushi concept to Lake Grove at Smith Haven Mall in late 2024.
The restaurant’s focal point is its revolving sushi bar with a continuous stream of sushi dishes. Skilled sushi chefs work their magic, preparing an array of authentic Japanese delicacies that glide past your table creating an interactive experience.
For now, Suffolk folks will have to travel to the only Long Island location of Kura Sushi at 47 Old Country Road in Carle Place.
