Shrimpy’s Burrito Bar Closing Huntington Station Spot; Moving to New Freestanding Location in Northport

The Huntington Station location of Shrimpy’s Burrito Bar is closing down and relocating to their new stand-alone spot in a former Dunkin’ Donuts property at 650 Fort Salonga Road in Northport. The restaurant announced the closure on social media recently saying that the last day they will be open in Huntington will be January 7th.

“Although we will miss our Huntington store we’re not going far,” they said. “We’re headed to Northport and excited about a new beautiful stand alone location! It was a hard decision to make but we know it was for the greater good and can’t wait for you all to see the new place!! To our Huntington family!! Thank you for supporting us these last couple of years and we hope you continue to do so just a bit up the road.”

Their Huntington Station location is in a corner unit in a shopping center at 135 Jericho Turnpike. The new free-standing building, once home to Dunkin’ Donuts that closed in 2022, is a 1,200 square foot space with 18 parking spaces on a quarter-acre property.

Instead of opening an additional location as originally reported, Shrimpy’s Burrito Bar is moving their restaurant to the new spot.

Shrimpy’s Burrito Bar has three locations. The original is in Massapequa Park; their second location in Huntington Station (soon to be Northport) opened in 2020 and East Islip, their third location, opened in April of 2023. They also have a food truck.

The Northport property was sold for $1.2 million in January of 2023. Matt Eberhardt, who represented both the buyers and sellers of the property in that deal, said that the Shrimpy’s owners signed a 10-year lease on building with the owners and hoped to open in the space by February or March of 2024.
