Starbucks Proposed for Vacant Lot off Vets Highway in Ronkonkoma
A Starbucks with a drive thru is planned for a property at 3355 Veterans Highway in Ronkonkoma. EB at Vets Highway LLC is listed as the developer of the project. The developer proposed a plan to the Town of Islip to build the new coffee spot on an unimproved lot next to an existing office building. The parcel of land is on the northbound side of Veterans Highway between Louis Kossuth and Feuereisen Avenues.

The applicant is requesting permits for a fast food restaurant and outside seating. They are requesting a waiver of the requirement for fast food restaurants to be located at a signalized intersection, according to an item on the town planning board agenda.
Plans show a 2,200-square-foot Starbucks with room for up to 20 cars to queue up in the drive thru. They also propose 92 parking stalls, four of which will be accessible. Egress from the property will be on Feuereisen Avenue. The building will be located near the center of the entire property adjacent to the existing office building.
The Starbuck lot is contiguous with the office building, which is home to an assisted living management company.
According to Town of Islip records, the item was adjourned at the October 18th Islip Town Planning Board meeting.
