Sunflower Cafe & Bakery Opening in Former Le Soir Location in Bayport

No sooner was the ink dry on the sale when the new owners of Le Soir announced plans for the next iteration of the restaurant at 825 Montauk Highway in Bayport. Sunflower Cafe & Bakery will replace Le Soir beginning December 12th.

The Sunflower Cafe & Bakery menu has French influences but offers a number of different items from Le Soir’s traditional French cuisine, which had been at the location since 1977.

The sale of the property and business took place on Thursday, November 30th, according to listing broker Doug Cabral with Century 21 Excelsior Realty, who called it bittersweet.

The broker for the buyer was James Izzo with Cow Harbor Realty.

“As you know Le Soir is very well known and has amazing reviews,” said Cabral. “In the case of Le Soir the buyer has a different concept and vision for business which is very exciting as well.”

The website says that Chef Stacé drew inspiration for the menu from travels in France, “coupled with a passion for gardening and penchant for infusing unexpected herbs into every creation.”

The menu at Sunflower Cafe & Bakery is extensive and well-thought out.

For lunch they include a Quiche Lorraine with sundried tomato and fennel, broccoli cheddar, or spinach and mushroom, served with green arugula, frisée, red onion, tomato and cucumber salad. They also have a Sunflower Salad with frisée, endive, arugula, artichoke, tomato, roasted beets, red grapes, crisp bacon, citrus fruit and lemon lavender vinaigrette served with goat cheese crustini.
