Take A Sneak Peek Inside Elaine’s Restaurant and Bar in East Setauket
Elaine’s Restaurant and Bar in East Setauket is ready for her close up.
This classy space is upscale enough for an elegant dinner but has enough casual charm to be your regular weekend spot. Owners Elaine and Enzo Micali have put a lot of themselves into their new restaurant from the design accents and artwork on the walls to the menu and the mirror over the bar (decorated with whimsical quotes uttered by Enzo aka Enzo-isms).
The couple brought everything together in a refined space to share with their customers.
“We wanted it to feel elevated but not stuffy,” said Elaine Micali. “Elevated casual.”

The Micalis had a favorite time period in mind when they designed the restaurant, mid-Century cool, a little classic and a little modern, with back-and-white fashion photos hanging alongside Picasso prints and custom artwork they commissioned from one of their favorite artists: Luc Perreault, a painter from Montreal.
“We’ve traveled a lot,” said Elaine on her selection of artwork. “We love interesting art.”
They even sourced their front doors from a salvage site in Sicily and put them up as-is.

The space has a familiar, cozy vibe and is unrecognizable from its former incarnation as Thai Show North; it’s been completely renovated and reimagined.
They say it takes a village. In the case of bringing Elaine’s vision to life, that means Three Village.
“We used all local trades,” said Elaine.
Their general contractor was Brian Dusek from BNR, Olde Towne Gardens did their exterior work and landscaping, Frank Restucci from North Country Electric wired the place up, Nancy Munch from Open House County Interiors was their designer, and Christina Cominto from Invaiatura, LLC was their wine consultant (someone from Elaine’s past life at Pentimento). They even had a signature candle scent made for the restaurant by Renee Fondacaro at Old Field Apothecary.

So much of the Micalis are in the new restaurant that people who know them say it’s like walking into their house, which is just how they like it.
“We wanted this place to be an extension of our own home,” said Elaine.
