Long Island Pizza Strong Raises Over $100K For Farmingdale High School Bus Tragedy Victims and Families

The organizers of Long Island Pizza Strong announced that their fundraiser held on October 25th raised $102,200. Proceeds will go toward the victims and families of the Farmingdale High School bus tragedy and to support the community’s healing process.

The fundraiser was put together by Anthony Laurino, owner of Phil’s Pizzeria in Syosset, Jim Serpico from Side Hustle Bread and Alyssa Guidice, who is also the founder of the popular Dine-LI foodie Facebook group.

In total, according to the organizers, 15,437 pizzas were sold to support the fundraiser. Over 140 pizzerias participated, donating $5 from every pie sold. Additional donations and corporate sponsors also contributed to the total.

The organizers of Long Island Pizza Strong pledged 100% of the proceeds will go to all of the families of those injured, families of Gina Pellettiere and Bea Ferrari, and the Farmingdale High School marching band.

People who participated in fundraiser the helped spread the word by tagging @lipizzastrong on Facebook and Instagram and used the hashtag in posts when they bought pies from one of the participating pizzerias.
